About Dannys Guitar Works

My shop was established in 1998, so I must be doing something right. My name is Daniel Birzak, everyone calls me Danny. I have a wife Trudy, and two kids Karl and Ava. I've been playing for over 30years, so I know a little bit about the guitar. Since opening my shop I've done work for bands like Dashboard Confessional, Thrice, Hot Rod Circuit. And local talent like J.Robbins-Burning Airlines and Channels, Sugar Bear- EU, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Darkest Hour, Q and Not You (rip) and Washington Social Club. Word of mouth is gold. Well that's enough "I's" and "Me's". OK two more.

I'm not a stringed instrument Messiah, *I'm just a man.. a guitar repair man. *I can't make a POS sound like a PRS, Gibson Les Paul or a Martin.

After 30 years of playing and tinkering with guitars, I decided to open up my own shop in College Park, Maryland back in 1998. After 8 years in College Park, and 1 year in Beltsville, and with the high cost of renting retail space, I've moved shop out of Beltsville to Clarksville, Maryland.

I've learned more in real world repair, troubleshooting and retail experience than with classroom or book studies. I've also been very fortunate to learn repair and building techniques from local veterans repair folks such as John Warden and the late Jim Bumgartner.

With my shop now in Clarksville, Maryland, I'm expanding my services to include a new web site and a online retail store for the do-it-yourselfers and builders. Sales of parts, pickups and accessories are still available.
