Rich does extrodinary work! Over the years I have had need of his services more that a few time. Of late I needed some work done a fretless bass that I though playes pretty well but when he was done it now is the best bass I have ever played. He has the experience and even more so the craftmanship to truly transform an instrument. He is as another reviewer put it a real magician. Thanks Rich for everything you have done for me. meh

Beck is a genius when it comes to set ups. He took my fender strat and turned it from a useless, sounds terrible guitar to better than brand new. He took the time to watch me play, so he\'d know how to set the guitar up for my playing style. He talked a lot, which was a bit tiring, but in the end I learned a lot and ended up with a strat with perfect action and intonation. He is the best, and I\'d recommend him for any type of guitar work.

I had taken my Martin to a different shop in town and was not satisfied. A friend of mine told me about Rich Beck and I took it to him last week. Got it back earlier this week and the difference is amazing. Rich made it sound and play the way I always dreamed it could. Thank you Rick. I will recommend him to every peron I know.

I have been playing guitar professionally all my life and have several nice guitars. I recently purchased a Les Paul Special that played like a tree limb, but it sounded to me like it was a good cut of wood and could be a nice little Paul. I needed my guitar to play well for my style, Mr. Beck new exactly what it needed, explained it to me, taught me a lot about the whole guitar and gave me the ultimate Beck Gaurantee. I knew of Rich\'s legendary reputation and after speaking with him, it\'s clear this man is way on top of his game. He will make you play for him (guys.... this is a key element to a successful set up) and observes your style. His ability to understand your needs and desires is dead on! Needless to say, Mr. Beck far exceeded my expectations. This guitar is awesome! I\'m a Strat player..... til now. Rich don\'t know it yet, but he will be taking care of all my guitars and has earned a very loyal customer. I would highly recommend Rich for all your guitar needs.... he is the best!

Rich Beck did a refret, new bridge, bone nut and a total pro set up on my 76 LP Deluxe in 2007. All that work turned out excellent. My 34 year LP plays like a new guitar!!! In Jan 2010 performed a complete pro set on my 2009 Gibson Firebird \"V\". Now she sings like an angel!!!. Rich took the time to discuss what I wanted and looked at my playing style, before he did the work. He guarantees his set up work for 30 days, so if you need a little extra tweek, he\'s got you covered. Rich --you the man! A true master!

I have been taking my guitars to Rich Beck for over 30 years now. His set up work is amazing. Having small hands, he has my guitars play like butter! Over the years, I\'ve had him do repair, intonation, fretwork, electronics, refinishing work, etc. I trust Rich\'s work and am always blown away by how great a craftsman he is.

I have been taking all of my high end professional instruments to Mr. Beck for over 10 years. His attention to detail is unrivaled. He actually has you play for him to see how you play. This tells him how to set up your guitar to your specs. He is the last of the Mohicans. A true craftsman that takes pride in everything he touches. Thank you Mr. Beck! You make me sound good!

This guy is a hack! Save your time. money and your instrument. He lied to me horribly, ruined a custom shop strat, and I had a hell of a time getting my guitar back. I gave him explicit set up details and instructions on the problems. He not only made the frett buzz WORSE, he set the gutiar up with 9s on it. Who puts 9s on a strat and I told him over and over to set it up with 10s and do not cut the nut. Guess what, he cut the nut way low. I don\'t have enough time to tell you this horrible ordeal but save your self!

Richard....I made it through the (2) gigs I needed to. Thank you for setting the tension rod, so that I could do that. I know eventually I need a fret job, your the man, will be in touch to set that up at some point. I wouldn\'t want anybody else to do this besides you, you came highly recommended!! Thanks again.

I had heard good things about Rich and had him do a set up on my new Guild M20. The action was a little too low at first but he adjusted it without question and did a first rate job. I am very happy with the way my guitar turned out and he obviously knows what he is doing, very passionate about his craft.

Rich\'s client list speaks for itself. But in case it doesn\'t allow me to speak for myself... I\'m not some big pro player with RIAA creds, platinum albums, and LA/Nashville studio gigs, but I do play. A lot. I was having some serious carpal tunnel problems due to a lousy set up on a couple basses, including a wide necked 5-stringer. Rich set me up and I played three one-hour sets recently with no hand issues at all. Yeah, Rich\'s setups are very, very low and mine needed some tweaking, but he took the time to listen to me and address my concerns and my basses are playing better than instruments costing a LOT more.

I needed a setup on a new Little Martin that I had just bought to lower the action significantly and get rid of some fret buzz. Went to Guitar Center where they told me it was setup perfectly and would be 7 days until they could get to it. Since this is my second Little Martin I knew they were wrong. I found Richard via Google, called him and I was able to drop off the guitar within 30 minutes of talking to him on the phone, and got it back the next day perfectly adjusted. Will certainly go back when I need another guitar setup.

I brought my guitar from Alberta and the baggage handlers managed to damage my guitar. My dad and I looked for the building, found a house instead and said \"ah sure why not lets give it a go\". Very happy that we did as the guitar sounds 10 times better then even before the flight(and even when i bought the guitar)! thank you Rich you are epic. keep doing the things that you do.

Fantastic job Richard did on 3 of my top end bass guitars - action was nicely done to my specs. I liked the results so much, I\'m now making Richard my bass guitar God when it comes to fix/repair/adjustments. You Da Man!

Beck\'s Guitars has repaired & maintenance two guitars for me. The first had a bent neck and we thought we would have to scrap it. They repaired it and all the other things it needed and now the owner loves playing it again and better than ever. The 2nd guitar Beck\'s repaired was a special Taylor that required refitting for small female hands. It was brought back to life and form fit for the player with love and appreciation for such a fine instrument. Thank you Beck\'s for providing customized and economical service, loaded with TLC.

I recently bought a fairly decent Ovation Celebrity for a song, which is what it was worth as it was set up as purchased. I took it to Beck\'s, played a little bit, not much because the guitar ripped my fingers to shreds, but enough so he knew what I needed. Quoted me a price, and said he\'d make it play right for me, and that it would take a week. It took just three days, and it\'s probably the best playing, if not the best acoustic guitar I\'ve ever owned. If I\'d taken my old guitars to him, I may never have gotten rid of them in the first place. *regrets* for leaving them..... Anyway, the guitar plays absolutely flawlessly now. He\'s highly recommended to real human beings who play guitars that don\'t play right.

Richard Beck is a guitar MASTER, and a great guy, too! Ladies (and guys, too!), if you want your guitar to be super smooth and easy to play, with NO fret buzz and great sound, Richard is the guy for you! I have a high-end Takamine acoustic, which I’ve had for about 2 years. In that time, I’d had it set up 4 different times, without much success. Since it sounded and played beautifully when I bought it, I knew there had to be SOMEONE out there who could restore it to its original sound quality and playability. When I bought the guitar, it came with a “free setup”, and I didn’t know at the time to leave well enough alone. When I got it back after that first setup, it wasn’t the same, and I’ve spent the past two years trying to get it back where it was. Then I found Rich. After reading extensively on his website and all of his reviews by customers, I decided to try one last time, and I’m SO glad I did! I knew I’d have to play for him so he could tell what I needed, and although I was all for that idea and I’m not a total beginner, I’m a little shy and I get nervous playing for people. It took awhile to work up the nerve to play in front of someone I knew was such a master of his craft, but Rich treated me with total respect, and I didn’t have to play long before he knew exactly what I needed. He was very friendly, even to my kids! He offered to buff out some minor scratches for me as well. To my surprise, he finished the work 2 days early! When I picked up the guitar, it looked beautiful, and I noticed the neck looked much straighter. The action was set very low because I play very lightly, and I was afraid I’d have a buzzing issue, but the guitar plays beautifully! I have NO buzzing issues whatsoever, even if I strum loudly, and there is plenty of sustain to the notes-they ring beautifully-no more dead, dull sound! I waited a few days before writing this review, because I wanted to play the guitar for a few days and see if I was still as happy with it as I was when I first played it. I AM!!! If I ever again have any guitar work that I need done, Rich Beck will be the first and only guy I call! Rich, I sure hope you plan on being around forever! THANK YOU!

He worked on a couple lifelong problemsome instruments for me, and did a great job. wish i knew him 15 years ago when i acquired my cherished guitar and bass to keep them maintained, but he did perform some magic bringing a dan armstrong and a 65 P-bass back to life nonetheless. thanks again Beck, you got me back on the road.

Had him set up 3 of my basses. He worked hard and quickly and they play way better now. I would recommend him to anyone. Actually I already have.
